Snap-on Torque Wrench
High quality tools - made in the U.S.A.
Snap-on Tools is the world leader in precision torque tools giving you all
the options you need to tighten just about any fastener. There is a huge selection of torque tools including torque
screwdrivers or full featured calibration systems. These tools are highly regarded where it counts – in the
factories and mechanical shops. Each Snap-on Torque Wrench is made in City Of Industry, California.
Accuracy in the tightening of fasteners is critical, especially on today's
high tech machinery where precision can be affected by even the slightest variance. Over-tightening can ruin head
gaskets, brake rotors and transmission valve bodies. Snap-on tools are considered a cut above
competing tools such as Craftsman or the Matco torque wrench.
It's important to follow the manufacturer’s manual regarding proper force,
torque pattern, and torque “tighten/release” cycles. NEVER go beyond the specified working range of the wrench. Any
measurements outside of the working range are likely to be inaccurate and could result in a dangerous condition.
Don't use handle extensions on any digital or dial torque wrench in order to gain leverage as this can go beyond the
working range and could damage the tool itself. Dropping a torque wrench, whether or not it has electronics on
board, can cause the instrument to lose reliable calibration.
Snap-on Techwrench Torque
Wrenches
Snap-On's TechAngle torque
wrenches are available in 3/8" and 1/2" drive sizes. These state-of-the-art tools are rated at 5 to 100
foot-pounds (ft. lb.) and 12.5 to 250 foot-pounds of torque, respectively. Both have a reversible-ratcheting
flex head and a sturdy yet comfortable vinyl grip. The digital LCD screen is also located in the grip. They do
the job of multiple torque wrenches and an angle gauge to complete precise “torque plus turn” specifications,
all in one tool.
Techwrench also features preset and automatic track and peak hold modes and
audible alert as well as a vibrating alert mode. Three AA alkaline batteries are required and there is a low
battery indicator with auto shut off after two minutes. This is a well manufactured, durable tool that is designed
to withstand shocks and drops that are sure to occur in any shop setting.
Calibration
Snap-on torque wrench calibration is critical in ensuring accuracy. That's
why each wrench is factory calibrated to National Institute of Standards and Technology specifications,
and is shipped with a Certificate of Calibration. In heavy use shop applications it may be necessary to have a
torque wrench recalibrated. This is best done by an authorized dealer who will have the proper equipment to
ensure accuracy.
